Lastly if you are an airbrush Artist or have ever
Considered purchasing a silent air compressor.
Then check out this amazing deal.
Why pay $1,500 or more for a compressor that
Can hardly keep up with a couple airbrushes, let
alone a detail gun.
I have found a great quiet compressor for less
Then $300 delivered. At 60 dbs you can easily talk
over it without having to raise your voice. It also has
a duty cycle that will last for years and years with
enough power to run a detail gun or 5 airbrushes.
Its made by GMC and I love this this.. Available on
Amazon.com. I also plan on trying a 55db compressor
They have made of aluminum. 55dbs is like a whisper
It also has a 1.5 HP motor like the GMC. I will be sure
The post a full review once I test this one as well.
Here are the links for both those compressors. I do look
Forward to seeing the overpriced silent compressors one
day have to lower prices .
Keep in mind these compressors are not silent. Just real quiet. Also know that silent ones are quieter but are also not silent either.
A little confession about this car.. The bigger shows like the Portland custom or Seattle roadster shows had very strict guidelines. Even though they asked me to show this car as a feature I still had to follow all the rules and I didn’t.. I cheated to win some of those trophies. Ever since then I never cheated again but I was determined to go home with trophies from both those shows.
First off there was no interior in the car at that time, I drove it in on a milk crate and painted the insides of the windows pitch black so no one could look in. Then I noticed that I didn’t even clean the underside of the car while everyone else had mirrors under their cars showing off all the chrome. Even though I was just going for the best paint award I had to fit within the guidelines. So I did the only thing I could think of. I went around the show taking pictures of all the mirrors under all the cars.. raced around town to find someone to print these photos as 8by10s then put them in frames that looked like mirror frames.
Well my plan worked like a charm and I fooled all the judges. Or so I thought! When I went up to get my best paint trophy the judge whispered to me.. “Next time you put fake mirrors under a car. Try and remember cars only have one rear end!” I thought oh crud and ran back to my car where people were noticing that not only did I have two rear ends but each mirror was from a totally different car. So I would have to say that was not my most deserved award.

The above Firedbird was painted the day after 911. Up until that day the car sat for months with no ideas for a paint theme. I had already fabricated the beak on the front of the car so had some idea that it would have a bird theme. My reason for the front end was simple. We did not have the budged for a Firebird front bumper so we used a Camaro front bumper we had laying around
